1. I believe that technology should play a supporting role in education. The focus of technology should not be on the particular tool, but on the purpose that the tool will be used for. 2. My theory of how people learn is that people learn in different ways. Some people are visual learners while some people learn through experiences or through a flow of knowledge. With this in mind, I plan to employ a number of resources including the use of technology in order to enhance instruction. The great thing about technology is, regardless of a student’s learning style; it can be incorporated into instruction creatively. 3. As it relates to using technology in my classroom, so far I have come to realize that students welcome the use of technology and they already use it a lot in their everyday lives from smartphones to social media etc. I plan to take what students are already doing technologically in their everyday lives and incorporate this into their academic lives for example, the use of social sites such as Facebook and twitter to publish ideas for essays and blogs to publish finish essays. 4. My goals in taking this course mainly consist of becoming more accustomed to using technology in instruction and gaining new ideas as to how I can implement this. I plan to gain more knowledge and experience about the National Educational Technology Standards because it can be a great resource to use as guideline for teachers.
